The Vienna Wireless Society General Membership Meeting – December 11, 2009   Meeting Place: Oakton High School Library   President Jim, W4JTP formally opened the meeting at 7:35 pm   TOTAL ATTENDANCE: 49   GUEST: David Shanks, AJ4TJ   ANNOUNCEMENTS: Pete, KG4OJT: presented the proposed 2010 budget in great detail Membership approved the proposed 2010 budget unanimously reminded the Membership about NAQP in January at Highpoint in Middleburg cost per Member will be approximately $20 for food   Ray, KJ4CNN: updated the Membership about the February 28th Winterfest 2010   Pete, K6BFA: asked for four 2010 Food Volunteers thanked 2009 Volunteers Tim, KI4PVF Bob, WB4KLJ Bob, AJ4RS John, KA4YMA reminded the Membership that the NAQP CW contest will be held in his home in Vienna on the 2nd Saturday of January   Kevin, N4KL: asked that Members send him photos of their home and mobile stations to be used in a future presentation                                     FREE MAGAZINES: Pete, K6BFA brought QSL magazines Tom, N4ZPT brought professional telecommunications magazines   BREAK: 50/50 Winners (2) Sheila, KI4WKY Mike, KZ9U Food was potluck and provided by the Membership   MEETING PRESENTATION: Surplus Ham Gear Kevin, N4KL brought free ham gear from his shack and from Hal Bailey’s Gary, KI4EKM brought ham gear and announced that he had considerably more in his car and in his garage available for self-determined contribution to the Club   Dxing From Other Countries by Ron Payne, WA6YOU Ron discussed the 12 countries that he visited during his extensive Federal Service career trials and tribulations of securing in-country amateur radio licenses working exciting pile-ups   PICTURES OF THE MEETING – soon to be published on Flickr   President Jim, W4JTP formally adjourned the meeting after the presentation.   Respectfully submitted by: Ray Anderson, KJ4CNN Secretary, VWS   -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
