VWS General Meeting, Apr. 13, 2007

President Jim Parsons, W4JTP, called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM.

The membership gave a warm greeting to Alan Bosch, KO4ALA, and wished him continued success in his chemotherapy treatment. Get well soon, Alan.

Old Business.
Pete Norloff, KG4OJT, reported that VWS will donate $100 to the Vienna PTA, and we will attempt to raise another $100 from members.

Fairfax County Channel 21 is showing re-broadcasts of the recent ARISS QSO.

‘QRP To The Field’ is scheduled for April 28 but we do not yet have a volunteer to serve as chairman for the event. Contact any member of the board if you would like to organize the event.

Gary Nelson, KI4EKM, is Field Day Chairman for 2007. He is taking volunteers to serve on various committees. Contact Gary if you would like to sign-up.

New Business.
Repeater Report. John Transue, AF4PD, and John Birch, KA4YMA, are planning to install the new heliax feedline for the 2-meter machine. Contact them if you would like to assist.

Mike Steussy, AE4R, reports they had 12 check-ins on the 10-meter Pow-wow net. The topic of discussion was the Mayan Calendar.
