Club Meeting - March 12th, 2010

The next meeting of the VWS will be this coming Friday night at 7:30. Meeting location will be the Oakton HS Lecture Hall. The evenings presentation will be on the upcoming Virginie QSO party given by Mark, KI4OBT of the Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club, sponsors of the Va QSO Party.
 
Winterfest Is Here! Sunday, Feb 28, 2010, Annandale, VA

On Sunday, February 28, 2010, the 34th annual Winterfest will bring hams and equipment vendors together for a full day of fun! Several amateur radio clubs will be on hand to provide information about the ham radio hobby, getting started, where to find instructional help for earning the amateur radio license and much, much more! And if you're ready to take the test, a credentialed VE Examination Team will be on hand Saturday, February 27, 2010, so that you can earn that new license or upgrade! Dealers in communications equipment, new and used, antennas, cabling, parts and supplies will also be on hand to help you find the hard-to-find.
 
Next Meeting - Friday February 26th, 2010

The next meeting of the Vienna Wireless Society will be held this coming Friday night at 7:30 PM. Location will at the Oakton HS in the Lecture Hall. This is our final meeting before Winterfest and although things are coming together, I'm sure that Ray could always use a few more hands. Our presentation will be our own EME expert Glenn, KA0ESA.
 
February 12 Meeting Canceled

The next VWS meeting, scheduled for February 12 is canceled. Fairfax County Public Schools has canceled all activities for the rest of this week. The next meeting will be held on February 26th.
 
Club Meeting - January 22, 2010

The next meeting of the Vienna Wireless Society will be held this coming Friday evening. We will be meeting in the lecture hall starting at 7:30. The program for the meeting will be given by Ralph, AB4RS, and will be about ADS-B, the next generation of aviation surveillance.
 
NAQP Web Page Updated for January 16 Event

NAQP CW - January 9th - 10th

Just a reminder, the next VWS operating event is the NAQP-CW, which is the weekend of January 9th. This event is hosted by Pete, K6BFA. This is a fun and low key event. If you know CW or not, everyone is welcome. Pete always has an operator who is more than than willing to assist those who are not as proficient. And since this is a VWS event, you can count on good food and good conversation. If interested, please contact Pete.
