The Vienna Wireless Society is an active club with events on the club
calendar for many of our varied interests. Please note that this calendar is
prepared well in advance of many of the events listed. Up-to-date information

Saturday, January 8, 2011 North American QSO Party, CW. 1800Z
January 8 to 0600Z January 9, 2011. Location: Pete Hadley's house in Vienna. For

Saturday/Sunday, January 15-16, 2011 North American QSO Party, SSB.

Saturday/Sunday, March 19th, 2011 Virginia QSO Party. 1800 UTC
on Saturday, 19 March 2011 through 0100 UTC on Monday, 22 March 2011.
Annandale Swim and Tennis Club, Annandale, VA and individual efforts occuring

rules. This event is being organized by Bernie Wimmers, K4JDF. The Virginia
QSO Party is held the third full weekend in March.
Saturday, April 30, 2011 QRP To The Field We'll be operating
from Glyndon Park in Vienna. This event is being organized by Pete Hadley,
K6BFA. QRP To The Field is always held the last Saturday in April.
Saturday/Sunday, June 25-26, 2011 ARRL Field Day, Burke Lake Park,
Fairfax County This is the big operating event for the club each year.
Field Day remains one of the most fun exercises we do as a group. Setup begins
in the park around 5:00 PM on Friday with antenna setup. It restarts around 8:00
AM Saturday and proceeds through the start of On-Air Field Day operations at mid
day, through the night, and ends when everything is packed up and put away late
Sunday Afternoon. Our Field Day Chairman this year is TBD.
Field Day is
always held the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and

October 8th, 2011 The VWS Volunteers Picnic, Glyndon Park,
Vienna The VWS Volunteers Picnic event is our chance to express our
thanks to all of the club members who volunteer their time which makes the
Vienna Wireless Society an active and fun club.
Wednesday, October 26, 2011 Halloween Parade, Vienna This will
be our sixth year in recent memory providing communications support to the
Vienna Halloween Parade. This event is a lot of fun and not a whole lot of work.
Be sure to charge up your HT and come out for this fun evening in downtown
Vienna. This event is organized by TBD. The Vienna Halloween Parade is always on
the Wednesday before Halloween.
